Tuition and Fees

The General Forestry Course registration fee is $300.00 before the course begins, with a late registration fee of $400.00 after the start of the course.

Online Version: For students enrolling in the online version of the course, the registration fee covers all the materials for the course including: electronic text and appendices, lesson quizzes, paper copies of the supplemental readings (A Sand County Almanac, American Forests: A History of Resiliency and Recovery, and The Woodland Steward: A Practical Guide to the Management of Small Private Forests), and a small tree identification brochure entitled What Tree Is That? (paper copies of materials will be sent upon registration). Students enrolled in the web-based version will receive a CD of the course text and appendices as a reference for use after the course has ended.

Paper Version: For students enrolling in the paper version of the course, the registration fee covers all the materials for the course including a binder of the text and lesson quizzes, a binder of the appendices, paper copies of the supplemental readings (A Sand County Almanac, American Forests: A History of Resiliency and Recovery, and The Woodland Steward: A Practical Guide to the Management of Small Private Forests), and a small tree identification brochure entitled What Tree Is That?

How to Register

Registration opens January 4 for the Spring 2010 Semester and August 2 for the Fall 2010 Semester.  Enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis.  If the class is full and you are unable to enroll, you will be placed on a waiting list for the next semester.  The registration fee is $300.00 before the first day of class and $400.00 for late registration. 

Online registration is not available at this time. When registering by mail, we only accept a check or money order made out to University of Maryland.  Send your registration form (Mail-in Registration Form) and your registration fee ($300.00 before the first day of the semester, and $400.00 for late registration) to the following address:
